IPL Photofacial treatments improve the appearance of photo aged skin, removes age spots, brown pigments, and redness caused by broken capillaries. IPL refers to the use of Intense Pulsed Light to treat the above mentioned conditions. The process is ideal for patients with active lifestyles because the procedure requires no downtime and has a low risk of side effects.
The treatment delivers broadband light through the skin for skin rejuvenation. It helps restore a youthful looking appearance intended for sun damaged or photo aged skin. It also helps decrease facial redness, lessen the appearance of pigmented spots, reduce pore lines, and improve texture and fine lines.
Common Areas of Treatment:
Patients should undergo three to four IPL treatments in order to get the best possible results. Treatments are typically administered every three to four weeks and take approximately 20 to 30 minutes depending on the treated area. During the treatment, a cool gel is applied to the treated area, then a pulse of light similar to a rubber band snap is emitted from the handpiece. Generally no local anesthetic is required as the treatment is incredibly tolerable. After the session you may feel a slight burn, similar to what you’d feel with a sunburn, but there is no downtime and you can return to work the next day.
