Fix Skin Issues with IPL Photofacial

You’re beautiful, and the people around you see it. But when you look in the mirror, your eyes go straight to your age spots, blotches, or large pores, don’t they? It happens to all of us.  We fail to see our own beauty because we’re so fixated on our blemishes.

Well, at Viva Wellness in San Diego, we can help you eliminate the rosacea, hyperpigmentation, freckles or other skin issues that distract you from recognizing how beautiful you are.

With Intense pulse light (IPL) Photofacial, modern dermatology’s answer to uneven skin tone and texture, we can reverse signs of aging and sun damage, and reveal your true, radiant complexion.

IPL Photofacial provides a safe, reliable, and gentle solution to skin abnormalities such as:

  • Rosacea
  • Sun damage
  • Age spots
  • Actinic keratosis (AK) (rough, scaly patches)
  • Acne
  • Blotchiness
  • Broken capillaries
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Large pores
  • Freckles
  • Fine lines and wrinkles

IPL Photofacial isn’t just for the face.  It can be used to treat and rejuvenate skin on the neck, chest, arms, and hands as well.

What to expect during your IPL Photofacial treatment

When you arrive for your IPL Photofacial session, we’ll clean the treatment area and provide you with eye protectors. Then we’ll apply a thin layer of cold ultrasound gel to your skin. We will use the handpiece to send pulses of light deep into your skin. You’ll feel a sensation similar to that of a rubber band snap. These light pulses cause the collagen and blood vessels below your epidermis to constrict, reducing redness and age lines.

The procedure lasts about 20 to 30 minutes. Because it is a non-ablative procedure (meaning that no skin is removed), you will experience minimal discomfort and no downtime. You will be able to resume your normal activities immediately after your treatment.

You will begin to notice gradual change in the weeks following your IPL treatment, but for optimal results, we recommend 4 to 6 sessions (3 or 4 weeks apart), depending on the condition of your skin and the severity of the problem.

Who are the best candidates for IPL Photofacial?

IPL Photofacial is best for people with white, untanned skin that is still somewhat elastic.

It is not recommended for people with tanned or naturally dark skin, anyone who has taken the medication Accutane in the past six months, or pregnant women.
