CoolSculpting vs. ThermiTight Skin Tightening

Everyone wants to look their best, but as the human body ages, its skin inevitably begins to lose elasticity and sag. In the 21st Century, though, no one has to accept that physical effect of aging as a simple fact of life.

Today, there are non-surgical skin tightening procedures such as ThermiTight and CoolSculpting. Through these non-invasive treatments clients can tighten skin and reduce the appearance of stretch marks or cellulite.

What is ThermiTight?

With the use of a tiny probe, the ThermiTight treatment gently heats targeted areas of tissue to tighten sagging skin.

Medically referred to as “thermistor-controlled subdermal skin tightening,” the ThermiTight procedure uses doctor-regulated heat to target the layer of collagen below the surface of the skin.

After the injection of an anesthetic solution, the tiny probe is inserted slightly beneath the surface layer of skin. The doctor monitors the process while the probe is heated to the desired, therapeutic temperature to ensure the safety of the skin.

As the heat reduces the size of the layer of collagen beneath the skin, the surface skin is naturally tightened. The procedure can be performed on the face, neck, stomach, thighs and other body parts. The process generally takes less than an hour and patients can begin normal day-to-day activities on the following day.

What is CoolSculpting?

The CoolSculpting procedure also helps tighten sagging skin. In the targeted area, controlled cooling is used to freeze fat cells underneath the skin. Once the cells are frozen, they will gradually die off.

Don’t expect to see drastic results overnight, however, as the dead fat cells will be naturally processed out of the body over time. Results are typically seen three weeks to two months after the procedure.

While the treatment is happening, a patient might experience pinching, discomfort, or deep pulling in the targeted area.

Currently, there are five parts of the body that can benefit from the CoolSculpting treatment. The procedure may be used under the chin, on the sides of the body and abdomen and on the thighs.
