We are happy to now offer liposuction on-site at our San Diego office for our clients. This surgical procedure slims and reshapes specific parts of the body through the removal of excess fat deposits that have not responded to diet and exercise.
If you’re considering liposuction, this information will give you a basic understanding of the procedure: when it can help, how it’s performed, and what results you can expect. Please ask your surgeon about anything you don’t fully understand, as well as discuss your expectations.
Liposuction, also known as suction-assisted lipectomy, is most commonly performed on the thighs, hips, buttocks, abdomen and waist, but can also be used to contour the upper arms, parts of the face, knees, and ankles.
Recovery time depends on the amount and location of liposuction, but most people can return to work within a few days and normal activities within two weeks. The scars from liposuction are small and strategically placed to be hidden from view, even in a bikini. Mild bruising and swelling is also normal following your procedure.
It’s important to note that liposuction is not a solution for weight loss, and it should not replace proper diet and exercise. Liposuction is not a suitable treatment for sagging, loose skin or cellulite.
